DEAR FRIENDS,
WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE!
I am Irina Caraus, a Canadian Certified Immigration Consultant and the founding President of Immigration Civitas.
After graduating High School with Distinction, I chose to study Law in order to become a lawyer.
In 2004 and 2006, I obtained a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in law, both with honors from Moldova State University.
I began my legal career in a regional court. This priceless work experience taught me how important it is to thoroughly know the laws in effect, to keep up-to-date with recent legal changes, and apply them in my work.
After solid work experience at the court, I moved on to a legal counsel position at a major insurance firm. I was in charge of representing the company’s legal interests, as well as responsible for drawing up legal contracts and managing all legal documentation.
In 2011, a new chapter of my life started as I immigrated to Canada. I then continued my education at the faculty of Career Development at UQAM (Université de Québec à Montréal).
In 2015, right after graduating from University, I was hired by Carrefour Jeunesse Emploi, a Quebec provincial organization that takes care of youth professional integration. I am a devoted employment counselor and I use my passion to enable immigrant job seekers to plan the best possible strategies.
While listening to my clients’ successes and failings, I’ve realized that most aspiring immigrants fall into the same trap: they simply want to leave their country and do not consider that immigration does not end there. Moving is only the first step in the long and essential process of building one’s professional life in a new environment.
That is when potential immigrants meet their first huge disappointment: their dream of a perfect life in a new country has very little in common with reality.
That is why, if you wish not only to move to Canada but to actually live there, find stable employment with a proper salary and potential for professional growth, YOU NEED AN ACTION PLAN. This plan must take into account your past experience and your strengths, as well as new developments on the job market and available positions.
My goal is to help future immigrants like you avoid such disappointments on their way to immigration. That is why I have chosen to redirect my work towards immigration services.
Combining my legal skills and my work experience in career development for immigrants, I graduated with Honors from Collège Lasalle’s immigration consulting program (Montreal) and created my own company, Immigration Civitas.
